A FEW PEOPLE CALLED TO SEE IF WE
WERE STILL HAVING OUR FEBRUARY MONTHLY MEETING AND I TOLD THE PEOPLE THAT
CALLED —— YES WE WERE HAVING A MEETING.
DRAPER AND I STARED OUT GOING NORTH ON 279 & 79 WHEN WE HIT A MASSIVE WHITE-OUT
BLIZZARD AND THOUGHT TO ARE SELF THAT — JUST
MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE CANCELED THE MEETING — BUT WE BOTH SAID LETS KEEP GOING....TRUE-TROOPERS.
WE PULLED INTO THE LOT
AND WE WERE THE FIRST ONES THERE, A LITTLE LATER A FEW OTHERS PULLED IN
WITH US JOYCE AND TERRY AND THEN MISS
HOPE SHOWED UP. THERE WAS A NEW FELLOW
NAMED TOM WHO HEARD ABOUT US FROM
DEBRA COLLINS AT THE TANDY LEATHER STORE IN DELMONT.-.
AND OH YES DON"T FOR GET ABOUT THE OPEN-HOUSE THAT WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY MARCH
16 & AND SATURDAY MARCH 17 AT THE TANDY-STORE IN DELMONT. DRAPER AND I HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO DO
DEMONSTRATIONS, AND ARE LOOKING FOR OTHERS THAT MAY WANT TO HELP. DEBBIE IS HOPING THAT SEVERAL OF US CAN COME OUT THERE AND DEMONSTRATE ARE
CRAFT TO THE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO LEARN. ALSO THERE WILL BE DISCOUNTS AND SOME
SALES AT THE STORE .SO GIVE DEBRA A CALL AT 724-468-5148 SHE WILL BE HAPPY TO HEAR FROM YOU.
ALSO THINK ABOUT US DOING THE PITTSBURGH ART-FESTIFUL
SHOW DOWNTOWN IN THE SUMMER, IT WOULD BE NICE FOR ALL OF US TO GET OUTDOORS AND
SHOW ARE CRAFT- TO THE PUBLIC. JUST THINK ABOUT IT- OK?

NEXT MONTHLY MEETING WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 18TH THE DAY AFTER THE TANDY LEATHER OPEN-HOUSE. AT THE MEETING
WILL PICK-UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF ON THE GEOMETRIC STAMPING.

We wish to invite you and yours to a long week-end ofCILebration as we
Make it Leather in the
Heart of the Mid-West, Indianapolis,
Indiana. We promise to do our
very best and put our "best
foot forward" in making this leather experience one of your finest.
The Clarion
Hotel & Conference Center has offered a special room rate,
and a discount for those
who choose to attend our seminars and Friday morning workshops. Special
food buffets are being
planed for faster and better food needs. A Saturday Evening Buffet for
the Awards CILebration
is also planned. We are making our strongest effort to make your
week-end affordable and enjoyable.
A power-house of award-winning Master Craftsmen & Craftswomen have
been assembled to offer
one of the best opportunities for individuals to acquire skills from the
best in our craft Ava Cannon,
and Chan Geer, are offering two and-a-halfday seminars, and Bob Beard is
offering a one and-a-half day seminar.
The only difficulty will be to make the choice or to figure out how to go to
all three.
One day seminars on Thursday are being offered by Jeff* Mosby, Charles
Crenshaw, and Paul Bumett- Each Master teaching skills and projects not offered
in shows previous, it is an honor and a pleasure to work with these Masters to
ensure a rewarding experience for you in our craft. Please take a moment to
review the Seminar, Workshops, and Demonstration schedule within this packet.
Some of the time slots are not complete as we write this booklet, but will soon
be completed within the first two weeks of February. Please keep in touch with

Vendors of leather, leather products, tools, and tool
manufactures make it possible for us to make and
produce our craft. The best in our craft will be with us for
the week-end ofCILebration.
This show is open to all who have an interest in Leather-craft. Masters
or Beginners, Guild members or non-Guild members are welcome. On Saturday
morning Tandy Leather is sponsoring "Make it Leather from the
Beginning". An opportunity to learn for the first time how to carve or
engrave leather. If you have never had a
leather tool in your hand, now is the time for a terrific and satisfying
experience.
If you are a member of a Guild we invite you to display your Guild and
your members' craft. Please let us know so we can provide a space for your
display.
We are providing some of the finest awards ever offered at any
competition - - - ever. Each ribbon
awarded, each trophy earned and presented will be a '"water mark of
excellence". Positively, these
awards will have a place of honor in your home or office. Please take
notice of the Rules and Guidelines for Competition. There have been some
classes condensed, some added features, and some rule change with the Special
X. We believe this will help make our competition better for this Spring Show.
We look forward to rolling out the red carpet to the finest population
of leather craftsman and
craftswomen. We hope you will give some consideration in joining us for
a true CILebration of our
craft and to allow us to provide an enjoyable experience of Making it
Leather.
